Psychiatric consultation is available to help students and their counselor evaluate the need for psychotropic medication. As a matter of policy, those individuals who wish to make an appointment with a psychiatrist must first meet with a CPS counselor who can then make the appropriate referral to a psychiatrist.  CPS provides short term treatment, triage and referral services. Students in need of on-going psychiatric treatment or certain kinds of specialized care will be referred to a private psychiatrist.
