Medical Services
At University Health Services (UHS), a team of medical professionals including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, athletic trainers, and physical therapists provide outpatient medical services and serve as primary care providers. Primary care is the "medical home" for a patient, ideally providing continuity and integration of health care. The aims of primary care are to provide the patient with a broad spectrum of care, both preventive and curative, over a period of time and to coordinate all of the care the patient receives.
Appointments can be made for general health concerns, and urgent care services are available for those in need of more immediate medical assistance. In addition to basic medical and urgent care services, UHS provides specialized services to meet the needs of the Princeton University student population. These services include:
- Outpatient primary medical care services by appointment
- Urgent care walk-in services
- After hours care
- Sexual health and wellness services
- Athletic medicine (for varsity student athletes)
- Athletic medicine (for club sport athletes, intramural athletes, and other students)
- Nutrition services
- Immunization and allergy services
- Travel medicine services
- The Infirmary
- Radiological and laboratory services
- Physical therapy
- Medical transport vehicle rental program
