Nutrition Services works in collaboration with Medical Services and Counseling and Psychological Services to provide comprehensive care for students. Once a referral is made by a UHS clinician, a registered dietitian is available for individual nutrition counseling. Sessions focus on the relationship between nutrition and health and well-being, disease management, and optimal physical and mental performance. Nutrition Services aims to build upon an individual's strengths, allowing for positive behavior changes regarding eating and food choices.
Students may be referred to Nutrition Services for consultation on the following issues. Students are encouraged to review the links below for basic information before obtaining a referral.

For varsity student-athletes, a sport dietitian is available through Athletic Medicine.
The dietitian is also a member of the Eating Disorders Treatment Team. Nutrition intervention is an integral part of treatment to help address nutritional inadequacies, menstrual dysfunction and bone health, as well as food distortions and misconceptions. Nutrition counseling for addressing disordered eating aims to help students establish a healthy relationship with food and a positive body image while optimizing health and wellness.
