Wilcox Hall Renovation Delivers A New Servery for Butler and Wilson Colleges
The Wilcox Hall renovation project created a new combined servery for Butler and Wilson Colleges. Dining room improvements, a new kitchen, and elevator were also completed. A new entry on Goheen Walk gives Wilcox Hall a new look and much of the building infrastructure was replaced with new energy-efficient systems. Life safety improvements include upgraded fire alarm systems and extended fire suppression systems. The overall project was delivered in phases in the fall of 2007, 2008, and 2009. Kitchen testing began in late August and two "mock services," (full test meals with all staff and equipment) were held just prior to the main campus move in day.
"The new servery for Butler and Wilson may be our best yet, having had the opportunity to learn from our other marketplace settings in residential dining," said Chad Klaus, Assistant Vice President for Facilities, Services. "The Wilson dining room is also a big success and embodies the characteristics envisioned in the Four-Year College Task Force on Dining and Social Options."
