Honorary Degrees

The Trustee Committee on Honorary Degrees makes recommendations to the Princeton University Board of candidates for honorary degrees to be awarded at Commencement. The committee invites your nominations.
Please review the criteria that help guide the work of the Committee on Honorary Degrees. You may also review the list of recent recipients (1970 - 2009).
Nominations must include the candidate’s name and background about his or her accomplishments. Any connection to Princeton University or reasons the degree would be particularly meaningful to the individual and to the audience at Commencement, especially to degree candidates, are welcome. It would be helpful if you would include your name and Princeton affiliation.
