I am a rising junior from Lewisville, North Carolina and an alumna of the Princeton Bridge Year Program, which means that before coming to Princeton, I spent nine months doing service work in northern India. My primary work was teaching English and crochet classes at an organization in Varanasi that provides education, rehabilitation, and vocational training to people impacted by polio, cerebral palsy, or hearing impairment. Last summer, I returned to India to work at an orphanage near Dehli, where I also taught crochet and creative writing. At Princeton, I work as an editor for The Nassau Literary Review and Prism Magazine, tutor on campus and at the Garden State Correctional Facility, and am involved with Princeton Faith and Action. I am excited to be a member of the College Council because I love Whitman and am looking forward to helping find meaningful ways for us to serve each other and our greater communities this year!
