Dinner Talk, by Diane Snyder, "Does Google Know More About You Than Your Mother?", Tuesday, 12/8
December 8, 2009 · PDR (Wilcox Hall)
Does Google Know More About You Than Your Mother? Life with iPhones, Facebook and Twitter: Convenience or Conspiracy? A behind-the-scenes look at your favorite internet tools and smart gadgets. Does it end when you cruise the E-Z Pass lane, order pizza from your iPhone, or "friend" an old classmate? Those iPhone apps really save time - but what rights to your own data did you "sign away" in "signing up"? What is the potential for error and abuse? What is Google really doing with all your email, calendar, location, search and photo data? Is big brother still Uncle Sam or is it Walmart? Are there terrorists on Twitter or jihadists on Facebook? You'll want to think twice and read the fine print before you next "point and click," and this talk will help you to make sense of it all.
