J Street Media Workshop: Intro to Graphic Design - Photoshop
You want to create beautiful designs for posters, logos, banners, birthday cards, and so on. Or maybe you're already an artist and you want to learn more of the technical side of how to execute your creative vision in Adobe Photoshop. The Intro to Graphic Design in Photoshop will teach you the basics of graphic design as well as the technical tools and workflows you'll need to execute on your designs. We will cover graphical layout, including layering, masking, layer blending, layer effects, and color choice and manipulation. We will also cover the basics of effective and beautiful typography, which underpins successful design; this includes typeface choice, leading, tracking, kerning, and placement.
Instructor: Harvest Zhang (Computer Science 2014) is the Design Director of the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club and a photographer for Princeton's photography agency, and is therefore always using Photoshop for something or other.
