Women in Medicine Dinner Discussion with Dr. Vilko

Raised in Manhattan, Naomi Vilko received her B.A. from Barnard College, her M.D. from New York Medical College, and was trained at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Vilko has been Board Certified in Psychiatry since 1979. In the past, she has held administrative and teaching positions at medical schools, psychiatric training programs, and hospitals. Since 1985, Dr. Vilko has worked as a psychiatrist in solo private practice in Princeton, NJ and she is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical School. Dr. Vilko has special expertise in the treatment of women throughout the stages of life, as well as treatment of trauma-related conditions.

The Women in Medicine subgroup of the Premed Society invites physicians year-round to foster discussion on career-changing issues facing prospective women physicians including: (1) Challenges they may face when entering medical fields where women are both underrepresented and equally represented, ranging from family and career concerns to issues they have encountered during their training and practice and (2) Women as patients and women’s health.
