Funny Or Die Workshop
Funny Or Die, the award-winning, top destination for comedy on the web and Rocky College are putting on a two-day workshop to give Princeton students hands-on experience creating online video content. The workshop will run from Friday, April 26 through Saturday, April 27.
One part workshop, one part video contest, this is an opportunity for you to learn firsthand from the folks at Funny Or Die about making viral content for the internet. We will kick off the weekend on Friday April 26th at 6pm with a Q&A panel discussion with Funny Or Die executives, writers and directors, followed by a reception. Here you will learn how FoD writers and producers approach the development and scripting of an internet video, as well as personal stories about their journeys to Funny Or Die. On Saturday April 27th, starting at 10am and until 5pm, students will be broken out into teams to start the process of creating their own videos, guided by Funny Or Die creatives along the way. Sunday is a shoot day (also Communiversity Day, so a great day for visuals), and then you are on your own to edit your final projects (don't worry, your team leaders are just a phone call away!) At the end of the week (Friday May 3rd at 12noon), you will turn in your completed video, and the team at Funny Or Die will judge the final products and announce the winner, who will find their video on the front page of FunnyOrDie.com!
The reception and workshops are open only to those who have committed to participate in the week-long contest. Sign up at https://odocweb.princeton.edu/rsvp/rsvp_event.php?sharepoint_id=985. Since space is limited, you are encouraged to get your friends to sign up soon, if you want to participate as a team. This event is open to all students in the residential colleges. All equipment for shooting the videos will be provided; video-editing facilities will be available at Rocky College.
