Trip: Valley Shepherd Creamery
As I'm sure many of you are already aware, Sunday, October 21 is the International Day of the Nacho. Yes, corn, oil, and jalapeños are major players in this preparation, but what would nachos be without cheese? ... Rhetorical question: they'd be a naked plate of tortilla chips. They would be sad.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy the coagulated, sometimes-moldy milk we all love and know as cheese.
Join us on a cheese-enthusiast's pilgrimage to Valley Shepherd Creamery, in Long Valley, NJ, where raw sheep's milk is crafted into gorgeous fresh, herbed, cave-aged manchegos, bleus, goudas, raclettes, bries, ricottas, yogurts, ... you get the point. Our day trip will include a wagon tour of the pastures and caves where the magic happens, and conclude with ample time to taste/wander through their shop before heading back to Princeton.
Admission to the tour for Wilson students will be covered, so just be sure to bring enough funds to cover personal purchases. We anticipate departing around 11am from Wilson, and returning by around 4:30pm. Capacity is limited; so if you're interested in coming— or have any questions about the trip, reserve your spot by emailing Judy (jefan@princeton.edu) sooner rather than later!
Your RGSes in favor of deliciousness,
Jon G. + Judy F.
