Writing Across the University
Writing is integral to intellectual pursuits of every kind, whether in the humanities, the social or natural sciences, mathematics, or engineering.
The Princeton Writing Program enhances the culture of writing through the following initiatives:
- Consultations with faculty and graduate student instructors on integrating writing into courses, designing and sequencing effective assignments, grading and commenting on student work, and preparing upperclassmen for the JP and Senior Thesis. Consultations are also available for applicants to the 250th Anniversary Fund. To request a consultation, contact writing@princeton.edu.
- Resources for writers and teachers, including the JP Handbook (.pdf),Teaching with Writing (.pdf) and Academic Integrity at Princeton: A Guide to Campus Resources.
- Programs in support of academic writing including:
- Dissertation Boot Camps, in collaboration with the Graduate School
- Graduate Writing Days in collaboration with the Graduate Student Government and the Graduate School
- Senior Thesis Writing Groups and Boot Camps, in collaboration with participating departments
- Ways of Knowing Seminars, in collaboration with the Freshman Scholars Institute
- Dissertation Boot Camps, in collaboration with the Graduate School
