Summer Analyst, James D. Wolfensohn Inc., New York, NY.
  • Worked as a research analyst in Mergers & Acquisitions deals for clients such as Cemex.
  • Analyzed trends in M&A activity for Latin America over the last year.
  • Researched feasibility of gaming industry in Mexico.
  • Researched Russian cement market opportunities for clients.
  • Analyzed M&A possiblities in LAtin AMerican countries such as the Dominican Republic.

    Summer 1994

    Summer Intern, J.P. Morgan, New York, NY.
  • Worked in Latin American domestic debt research desk.
  • Helped to structure debt instrument reports sent out to Morgan clients.
  • Worked on analysis of Mexico's 1994 Presidential elections for investors.
  • Helped create and consolidate debt instrument yield and prices database for internal firm use.

    Summer 1993

    Research Analyst, Valenciana de Cementos (Cemex), Madrid, Spain.
  • Produced research reports on possible markets for cement plants and sales.
  • Evaluated feasibility of potential cement investments in Ireland, The Netherlands and the former Soviet Union.

    December 1993-December 1995(two terms)

    Treasurer
    Acción Puertorriqueña y Amigos, the campus Puerto Rican students organization.
  • Managed a yearly budget of $2,000, responsible for all matters pertaining to organization finances and expenses.
  • Raised over $20,000 for campus-wide events such as concerts and cultural trips.
  • Successfully lobbied, as part of Acción, the implementation of a Latino Studies Program as well as Latino-related seminars.
  • Brought to campus a number of prominent speakers such as former Surgeon General Antonia Novello and San Juan, PR, mayor Héctor Luis Acevedo.
  • Began a campus-wide newsletter devoted to Latino issues and culture.
  • Created and maintained a Web Page for the organization.

    March 1995-present

    Member of Latin Dance Co.Grupo Yukiyu.
  • Performed at various campus functions, including the International Festival and Latino Culture Shows, as well as campus Latin Music parties (Salsa Parties).

    October 1994-present

    Intramurals. Volleyball, DEC eating club.
  • Won spring 1995 campus intramural tournament consisting of over 35 teams.
