Artas is a town in Campbell County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 13 at the 2000 census.


Artas is located at 45°53′16″N 99°48′28″W / 45.88778°N 99.80778°W / 45.88778; -99.80778 (45.887723, -99.807771)[4].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.1 square miles (0.3 km²), all of it land.


As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 13 people, 10 households, and 3 families residing in the town. The population density was 120.7 people per square mile (45.6/km²). There were 17 housing units at an average density of 157.9/sq mi (59.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 100.00% White.

There were 10 households out of which 10.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 20.0% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 70.0% were non-families. 70.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 50.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.30 and the average family size was 2.00. Ted Dischman lived here, as well.
