Banks Township is a civil township of Antrim County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township population was 1,813.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 51.2 square miles (132.7 km²), of which, 45.0 square miles (116.5 km²) of it is land and 6.2 square miles (16.1 km²) of it (12.16%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,813 people, 675 households, and 517 families residing in the township. The population density was 40.3 per square mile (15.6/km²). There were 995 housing units at an average density of 22.1/sq mi (8.5/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 97.79% White, 0.17% African American, 0.72% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.33% from other races, and 0.72% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.38% of the population.
