Benton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2000, the population was 34,226. Its county seat is Foley[1]. Established in 1849, the county is one of the earliest in Minnesota [2].

Benton County is part of the St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 413 square miles (1,069.7 km2), of which 408 square miles (1,056.7 km2) is land and 5 square miles (12.9 km2) (1.14%) is water.
