Cass County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of 2000, the population was 24,334. Its county seat is Plattsmouth[1]. It is one of five Nebraska counties in the eight-county Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Statistical Area.[2]

In the Nebraska license plate system, Cass County is represented by the prefix 20 (it had the twentieth-largest number of vehicles registered in the county when the license plate system was established in 1922).

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 566 square miles (1,465.9 km2), of which 559 square miles (1,447.8 km2) is land and 7 square miles (18.1 km2) (1.24%) is water.
