Earlville is a city in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,822 as of the 2008 census estimate. It is part of the OttawaStreator Micropolitan Statistical Area.



Earlville is located at 41°35′19″N 88°55′20″W / 41.588552°N 88.922356°W / 41.588552; -88.922356.[1]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.0 km²), all of it land.


As of the census[2] estimate of 2008, there were 1,822 people, 678 households, and 484 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,527.4 people per square mile (591.8/km²). There were 708 housing units at an average density of 608.2/sq mi (235.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.64% White, 0.06% African American, 0.62% Native American, 0.11% Asian, 0.45% from other races, and 1.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.02% of the population.

There were 678 households out of which 37.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.3% were married couples living together, 9.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.5% were non-families. 25.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.16.

In the city the population was spread out with 30.3% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 19.0% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 100.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.9 males.
