Fairdale is a former census-designated place in southern Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 7,658 at the 2000 census. In 2003, the area was annexed to the city of Louisville due to a merger between the city and Jefferson County's unincorporated community. Fairdale is now a neighborhood within the city limits of Louisville.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the Census Designated Place (CDP) has a total area of 14.84 km² (5.73 mi²), all land.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.8% White, 0.89% Black or African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.35% from other races, and 1.23% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.31% of the population.
