Fall River County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of 2000, the population was 7,453. Its county seat is Hot Springs.[1]



According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,749 square miles (4,529.9 km2), of which 1,740 square miles (4,506.6 km2) is land and 9 square miles (23.3 km2) (0.53%) is water.


The county is divided into three townships: Argentine, Provo, and Robins; and two areas of unorganized territory: Northeast Fall River and Southwest Fall River.
