Fruit Heights is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. It is part of the OgdenClearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. One of the suburbs of Farmington and Kaysville, its population was 4,701 at the 2000 census. In 2000, Fruit Heights was the 63rd-largest incorporated place in Utah. By 2004, it had fallen to the 76th-largest.



Fruit Heights is located at 41°1′41″N 111°54′38″W / 41.02806°N 111.91056°W / 41.02806; -111.91056 (41.027993, -111.910455).[3]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²), all of it land.


As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,701 people, 1,256 households, and 1,120 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,133.5 people per square mile (825.0/km²). There were 1,291 housing units at an average density of 585.9/sq mi (226.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.81% White, 0.04% African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.85% Asian, 0.55% from other races, and 0.62% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.04% of the population.

There were 1,256 households out of which 48.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.5% were married couples living together, 5.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 10.8% were non-families. 9.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.74 and the average family size was 4.02.

In the city the population was spread out with 35.1% under the age of 18, 12.3% from 18 to 24, 20.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 29 years. For every 100 females there were 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.7 males.
