Galt is a city in Wright County, Iowa, United States. The population was 30 at the 2000 census.


As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 30 people, 15 households, and 12 families residing in the city. The population density was 55.8 people per square mile (21.5/km²). There were 17 housing units at an average density of 31.6/sq mi (12.2/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White.

There were 15 households out of which 13.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 80.0% were married couples living together, and 20.0% were non-families. 20.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.00 and the average family size was 2.25.

In the city the population was spread out with 6.7% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 25 to 44, 53.3% from 45 to 64, and 30.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 54 years. For every 100 females there were 76.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 75.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $30,625, and the median income for a family was $31,875. Males had a median income of $20,833 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the city was $15,668. None of the population and none of the families were below the poverty line.
