Gentry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of 2000, the population was 6,861. Its county seat is Albany[1]. The county was organized in 1845 and is named after Col. Richard Gentry of Boone County, Missouri, who fell in the Seminole War in 1837.

On March 5, 2010, a jury awarded 7 neighboring farmers $11 million in damages from Premium Standard Farms over odors emanating from an hog farm of 4,300 acres (17 km2) that processes 200,000 hogs near Berlin in Gentry County -- the largest such award in history.[2]

The racial makeup of the county was 98.57% White, 0.12% Black or African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.57% from two or more races. 0.64% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
