Gove County (county code GO) is a county located in Northwest Kansas, in the Central United States. The population was estimated to be 2,721 in the year 2006.[1] Its county seat is Gove City,[2] and its most populous city is Quinter.

Law and government

Although the Kansas Constitution was amended in 1986 to allow the sale of alcoholic liquor by the individual drink with the approval of voters, Gove County has remained a prohibition, or "dry", county.[3]

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,071 square miles (2,773.9 km2), of which 0.01% is water.[4]
