Greenview is a census-designated place (CDP) in Siskiyou County, California, United States. The population was 200 at the 2000 census.



Greenview is located at 41°32′58″N 122°55′14″W / 41.54944°N 122.92056°W / 41.54944; -122.92056 (41.549515, -122.920420)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.4 square miles (3.6 km²), all of it land.


As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 200 people, 88 households, and 60 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 143.0 people per square mile (55.2/km²). There were 99 housing units at an average density of 70.8/sq mi (27.3/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 89.00% White, 4.00% Native American, 0.50% Asian, and 6.50% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.50% of the population.

There were 88 households out of which 22.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.1% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.8% were non-families. 26.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.27 and the average family size was 2.77.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 22.5% under the age of 18, 3.5% from 18 to 24, 21.0% from 25 to 44, 33.5% from 45 to 64, and 19.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 108.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $36,667, and the median income for a family was $41,591. Males had a median income of $35,625 versus $17,917 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $19,918. None of the families and 1.0% of the population were living below the poverty line.


In the state legislature Greenview is located in the 4th Senate District, represented by Republican Sam Aanestad, and in the 2nd Assembly District, represented by Republican Doug LaMalfa. Federally, Greenview is located in California's 2nd congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +13[3] and is represented by Republican Wally Herger.
