Iron County is a county located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of 2000, the population was 6,861. Its county seat is Hurley.[1]

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 919 square miles (2,380.2 km2), of which 757 square miles (1,960.6 km2) is land and 162 square miles (419.6 km2) (17.62%) is water.
