Itawamba County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of 2000, the population was 22,770. Its county seat is Fulton[1]. It was named for the Chickasaw leader Levi Colbert, who was also known as Itawamba.

The county is part of the Tupelo, Mississippi, Micropolitan Statistical Area.



According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 540 square miles (1,398.6 km2), of which 532 square miles (1,377.9 km2) is land and 8 square miles (20.7 km2) (1.50%) is water.
