Keith County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of 2000, the population was 8,875. Its county seat is Ogallala.[1]

In the Nebraska license plate system, Keith County is represented by the prefix 68 (it had the sixty-eighth-largest number of vehicles registered in the county when the license plate system was established in 1922).

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,110 square miles (2,874 km²), of which, 1,061 square miles (2,749 km²) of it is land and 49 square miles (126 km²) of it (4.37%) is water.[2]

Keith County was formed in 1873. It was named after Morrill C. Keith, the grandfather of Governor Keith Neville.[3]
