Laurens County is a county located in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It is included in the GreenvilleMauldinEasley Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2000, its population was 69,567; in 2005, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated that its population had reached 70,293.[1] Its county seat is Laurens.[2]

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 724 square miles (1,875 km²), of which 715 square miles (1,852 km²) is land and 9 square miles (23 km²) (1.23%) is water.
