Le Flore County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It is part of the Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2000, the population was 48,109. Its county seat is Poteau[1]. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma is the federal district court with jurisdiction in Le Flore County.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,608 square miles (4,165 km²), of which 1,586 square miles (4,107 km²) is land and 22 square miles (58 km²) (1.38%) is water.
