Lone Elm is a city in Anderson County, Kansas, United States. The population was 27 at the 2000 census.



Lone Elm is located at 38°4′47″N 95°14′33″W / 38.07972°N 95.2425°W / 38.07972; -95.2425 (38.079750, -95.242515)[3]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.1 square mile (0.2 km²), all land.


As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 27 people, 12 households, and 9 families residing in the city. The population density was 371.4 people per square mile (148.9/km²). There were 17 housing units at an average density of 233.8/sq mi (93.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.70% of the population.

There were 12 households out of which 25.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.0% were married couples living together, and 25.0% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.67.

In the city the population was spread out with 18.5% under the age of 18, 14.8% from 25 to 44, 33.3% from 45 to 64, and 33.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 60 years. For every 100 females there were 107.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.3 males.
