Loraine is a city in Renville County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 19 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Minot Micropolitan Statistical Area. Loraine was founded in 1907.

Geography

Loraine is located at 48°52′2″N 101°34′10″W / 48.86722°N 101.56944°W / 48.86722; -101.56944 (48.867126, -101.569387)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.6 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 19 people, 8 households, and 5 families residing in the city. The population density was 78.7 people per square mile (30.6/km²). There were 8 housing units at an average density of 33.1/sq mi (12.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White.

There were 8 households out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.5% were married couples living together, and 37.5% were non-families. 37.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 25.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 3.20.

In the city the population was spread out with 31.6% under the age of 18, 21.1% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 21.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 111.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 116.7 males.
