McDonald County is a county located in Southwest Missouri in the United States of America. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the population was 21,681. A 2008 estimate, however, showed the population to be 22,731. Its county seat is Pineville[1]. The county was organized in 1849 and named for Sergeant Alexander McDonald, a soldier in the American Revolutionary War.

McDonald County is part of the FayettevilleSpringdaleRogers, AR-MO Metropolitan Statistical Area.
