Millville is a town in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. The population was 259 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Seaford Micropolitan Statistical Area and lies within Baltimore Hundred.

Geography

Millville is located at 38°32′56″N 75°6′49″W / 38.54889°N 75.11361°W / 38.54889; -75.11361 (38.548836, -75.113578)[1], about 1 mile (2 km) west of the Atlantic Ocean and about 1 mile (2 km) south of Indian River Bay. It contiguous on the east with Ocean View, and bordered on the north, west, and south by unincorporated portions of Sussex County.[2]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.2 km²), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[3] of 2000, there were 259 people, 111 households, and 71 families residing in the town. The population density was 534.1 people per square mile (208.3/km²). There were 141 housing units at an average density of 290.8/sq mi (113.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.91% White, 1.93% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.77% of the population.

There were 111 households out of which 23.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.6% were married couples living together, 4.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.0% were non-families. 31.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.96.
