Muscatine County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. In 2000, the population was 41,722. A 2008 estimate shows a slight increase to 42,405.[1] Its county seat is Muscatine.[2]

Muscatine County is part of the Muscatine Micropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 449 square miles (1,163 km²), of which 439 square miles (1,136 km²) is land and 10 square miles (27 km²) (2.32%) is water.
