Nashotah is a village in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,266 at the 2000 census.

Geography

Nashotah is located at 43°5′41″N 88°24′2″W / 43.09472°N 88.40056°W / 43.09472; -88.40056 (43.094705, -88.400658);[3] in the Lake Country area of Waukesha County.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.3 km²), of which, 1.6 square miles (4.2 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (1.82%) is water.

Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 1,266 people, 445 households, and 364 families residing in the village. The population density was 781.4 people per square mile (301.7/km²). There were 455 housing units at an average density of 280.8/sq mi (108.4/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.82% White, 0.16% African American, 0.16% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.08% from other races, and 0.47% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.03% of the population.

There were 445 households out of which 43.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.2% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.0% were non-families. 14.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.84 and the average family size was 3.19.
