Pickaway County is a county located in the state of Ohio, United States. As of the 2000 census, the population was 52,727. Its county seat is Circleville[2]. Its name derives from the Pekowi band of Shawnee Indians, who inhabited the area. (See List of Ohio county name etymologies.)

Pickaway County is part of the Columbus Metropolitan Statistical Area.



According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 507 square miles (1,313 km²).502 square miles (1,300 km²) of it is land and 5 square miles (13 km²) of it (0.96%) is water.
