Pinardville is a census-designated place (CDP) in the eastern part of the town of Goffstown in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 5,779 at the 2000 census. Pinardville has existed since 1906.

Geography

Pinardville is located at 42°59′47″N 71°30′30″W / 42.99639°N 71.50833°W / 42.99639; -71.50833 (42.996283, -71.508452).[1]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km2), of which 1.6 sq mi (4.1 km2) is land and 0.2 sq mi (0.52 km2), or 8.33%, is water.

History

In 1906, Edmond Pinard, a grocer by trade, developed real-estate holdings on the Manchester/Goffstown town line. The area was known at the time as Pinards Ville.[citation needed] It has grown substantially since then, but many of the original families still live in the area.

Demographics

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 5,779 people, 1,932 households, and 1,234 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 3,499.2 people per square mile (1,352.3/km²). There were 1,969 housing units at an average density of 1,192.3/sq mi (460.7/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.49% White, 0.22% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.61% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.11% of the population.
