Polk County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Its population was estimated at 30,776 on July 1, 2009.[1] Its county seat is Crookston[2], and the largest community is Crookston[3]. Polk County and Grand Forks County, North Dakota, make up the "Grand Forks, ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area" or "Greater Grand Forks".

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,998 square miles (5,174 km²), of which 1,970 square miles (5,103 km²) is land and 27 square miles (71 km²) (1.37%) is water.
