Pollock Pines is a census-designated place (CDP) in El Dorado County, California, United States. It is part of the SacramentoArden-ArcadeRoseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,728 at the 2000 census.



According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.8 square miles (15.1 km²), all of it land.


The first post office opened in 1936.[1] The name celebrates the Pollock family, early settlers.[1]


As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 4,728 people, 1,916 households, and 1,320 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 811.5 people per square mile (313.1/km²). There were 2,206 housing units at an average density of 378.6/sq mi (146.1/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 93.51% White, 0.02% Black or African American, 1.18% Native American, 0.70% Asian, 0.30% Pacific Islander, 1.42% from other races, and 2.88% from two or more races. 5.25% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
