Prattville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Plumas County, California, United States. The population was 28 at the 2000 census.



Prattville is located at 40°12′29″N 121°9′24″W / 40.20806°N 121.15667°W / 40.20806; -121.15667 (40.208022, -121.156603)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km²), all of it land.


As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 28 people, 17 households, and 7 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 45.4 people per square mile (17.4/km²). There were 97 housing units at an average density of 157.4/sq mi (60.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 100.00% White.

There were 17 households out of which 5.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.2% were married couples living together, and 58.8% were non-families. 52.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 35.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.65 and the average family size was 2.43.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 10.7% under the age of 18, 10.7% from 25 to 44, 42.9% from 45 to 64, and 35.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 60 years. For every 100 females there were 115.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $70,313, and the median income for a family was $71,250. Males had a median income of $71,250 versus $36,250 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $37,786. None of the population and none of the families were below the poverty line.

Federally, Prattville is located in California's 4th congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +11[3] and is represented by Republican John Doolittle.
