Rødovre is a Danish town, seat of the Rødovre Municipality, in the Region Hovedstaden. Its population in 2009 was of 36,228 [1].

History

Until 1901, the town was part of the parish of Brønshøj-Rødovre. In that year, Rødovre was created as independent municipality and Brønshøj was simultaneously annexed by the city of Copenhagen.

Geography

Rødovre, co-extensive with the territory of its municipality, is situated in the central-western suburb of Copenhagen and not too far from Frederiksberg. It is part of Metropolitan Copenhagen.
