Richland County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of 2000, the population was 17,998. Its county seat is Wahpeton.[1]

Richland County is part of the Wahpeton, ND–MN Micropolitan Statistical Area.



According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,446 square miles (3,744 km²), of which, 1,437 square miles (3,721 km²) of it is land and 9 square miles (23 km²) of it (0.62%) is water.
