Sherrodsville is a village in Carroll County, Ohio, United States. The population was 316 at the 2000 census. It is part of the CantonMassillon Metropolitan Statistical Area.



The village was named for early settler William Sherrod.[3]


Sherrodsville is located on Conotton Creek at 40°29′41″N 81°14′40″W / 40.49472°N 81.24444°W / 40.49472; -81.24444 (40.494728, -81.244479)[4].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land.

Sherrodsville is at the intersection of State Routes 39 and 212.

The Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway previously the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad passes through.


As of the census[2] of 2000, there are 316 people, 122 households, and 90 families residing in the village. The population density is 999.7 people per square mile (381.3/km²). There are 129 housing units at an average density of 408.1/sq mi (155.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village is 97.15% White, 0.32% African American, 0.32% Asian, 0.32% from other races, and 1.90% from two or more races. 0.32% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 122 households out of which 28.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.9% are married couples living together, 14.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% are non-families. 23.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.59 and the average family size is 3.03.
