Surfside is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,909 at the 2000 census. As of 2005, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 4,710.[3]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.5 km2 (1.0 sq mi). 1.3 km2 (0.5 sq mi) of it is land and 1.2 km2 (0.5 sq mi) of it (47.42%) is water.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 4,909 people, 2,248 households, and 1,330 families residing in the town. The population density was 3,790.8/km² (9,721.8/mi²). There were 3,059 housing units at an average density of 2,362.2/km² (6,058.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 93.50% White (52.7% were Non-Hispanic White,)[4] 1.28% African American, 0.04% Native American, 1.16% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.51% from other races, and 2.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 43.53% of the population.
