Union County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the population was 18,293. Its county seat is Jonesboro, Illinois[1].



According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 422 square miles (1,093 km²), of which 416 square miles (1,078 km²) is land and 6 square miles (15 km²) (1.41%) is water.
