West Mansfield is a village located in Logan County, Ohio, United States. The population was 700 at the 2000 census.

A branch of the Logan County District Library serves the West Mansfield community.



West Mansfield is located at 40°24′02″N 83°32′34″W / 40.400452°N 83.542652°W / 40.400452; -83.542652.[1]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.2 km2), of which, 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2) of it (2.35%) is water.


As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 700 people, 276 households, and 203 families residing in the village. The population density was 848.8 people per square mile (329.6/km2). There were 295 housing units at an average density of 357.7/sq mi (138.9/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.71% White, 0.14% African American, 0.14% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 0.29% from other races, and 1.57% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.29% of the population.

There were 276 households out of which 31.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.3% were married couples living together, 12.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.1% were non-families. 23.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the village the population was spread out with 26.6% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 21.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 82.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.3 males.
