White County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of 2000, the population was 15,371. Its county seat is Carmi, Illinois[1].



According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 502 square miles (1,299 km²), of which 495 square miles (1,282 km²) is land and 7 square miles (18 km²) (1.36%) is water.
