Whiteface Reservoir is an unorganized territory in St. Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 292 at the 2000 census.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the unorganized territory has a total area of 143.6 square miles (371.9 km²), of which, 138.1 square miles (357.7 km²) of it is land and 5.5 square miles (14.3 km²) of it (3.84%) is water.


As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 292 people, 130 households, and 99 families residing in the unorganized territory. The population density was 2.1 people per square mile (0.8/km²). There were 340 housing units at an average density of 2.5/sq mi (1.0/km²). The racial makeup of the unorganized territory was 98.97% White, 0.68% Native American, and 0.34% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.34% of the population.

There were 130 households out of which 14.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.5% were married couples living together, 3.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.1% were non-families. 19.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.53.

In the unorganized territory the population was spread out with 12.7% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 16.8% from 25 to 44, 48.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 50 years. For every 100 females there were 102.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.4 males.

The median income for a household in the unorganized territory was $47,500, and the median income for a family was $48,125. Males had a median income of $60,313 versus $29,792 for females. The per capita income for the unorganized territory was $34,764. None of the population or families were below the poverty line.
