Whiteside County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of 2000, the population was 60,653. A 2008 estimate shows a slight decrease to 59,153.[1] Its county seat is Morrison[2]. The Sterling Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Whiteside County.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 697 square miles (1,805 km²), of which 685 square miles (1,774 km²) is land and 12 square miles (32 km²) (1.76%) is water.
